What this makes possible

Public health teams often need to reach communities that are not well served by existing health information. Producing tailored, accessible content for each group, including migrant workers, refugees, people with low literacy, or communities speaking minority languages, has historically required significant resources.

AI makes this fast and affordable. You can produce a complete, accessible health information website translated into multiple languages in a single working session. The site can be updated whenever the guidance changes, and adapted for different communities without starting from scratch each time.

What a session looks like

A typical request to Claude Cowork might look like this:

"Build a simple, accessible health information website about heatstroke prevention for construction workers. The audience has low health literacy and may not speak English as a first language. Include: what heatstroke is and how to recognise it, how to prevent it on the job, what to do in an emergency. Produce the site in English and Maltese. Use plain language, short sentences, no jargon. Make it mobile-friendly."

Claude will produce a complete HTML website — with navigation, structured content, and appropriate design — that you can open in a browser, review, and adjust before hosting.

Key capabilities

Multilingual content

Ask for the same site in multiple languages simultaneously. The AI translates and adapts tone for each in culturally appropriate plain language.

Accessibility built in

Request WCAG accessibility standards, high colour contrast, large text, and screen-reader-friendly structure. AI can check its own output against accessibility guidelines.

Low-literacy formats

Specify reading age and the AI adjusts vocabulary and sentence length accordingly. You can also request versions with more visual cues and shorter paragraphs for low-literacy audiences.

Fast iteration

Changed guidance from a health authority? Paste in the updated text and ask Claude to revise the relevant sections. The whole site can be updated in minutes.

Hosting these sites: A small health information website can be hosted free on GitHub Pages, or for a few euros a month on shared hosting like Spaceship or Namecheap. You do not need a developer; Claude can walk you through the upload process (it walked me through creating this website).
Health Campaign Builder skill: If you use Claude Cowork, the Health Campaign Builder skill in the repository handles this process through a guided conversation — asking about your target population, languages, branding, and visual theme, then generating a complete, population-appropriate HTML page or site. It adjusts reading level automatically by audience type and can produce multilingual output in a single run. No free-form prompting needed.
Always have clinical content reviewed by a qualified health professional before publishing. AI produces well-structured drafts, but health information must be accurate, current, and locally appropriate. Build in a review step before the site goes live.
